Q: Where are you located?
A: We are located in beautiful Whidbey Island, Washington. We are conveniently located close to downtown, shopping, and medical providers. Click here for a map and directions.
 
Q: How many apartments and cottages are at Regency on Whidbey?
A: Regency on Whidbey offers 73 private living apartments, 40 Harbor Care units, and 29 independent cottages.  
 
Q: What sort of apartments and amenities are available?
A: We offers a variety of private one and two bedroom suites in the independent living cottages, assisted living community, and secure Harbor Care community.  See Amenities for more information. 
 
Q: Do you offer church services and other religious activities at the site?
A: Yes, there is a weekly church service and transportation to various outside churches.
 
Q: What is your visitor policy?
A: We welcome and encourage visitors, including children and pets.  For individuals who wish to bring a pet on a regular basis, please see the Activity personnel for a copy of the policy.  Visitors should be respectful of resident rights and not interfere with the plan of care. Gifts and foods should be checked in at the nurse's station.  Suggested visiting hours are from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm.
 
Q: May I bring a pet?
A: Yes. Small housebroken pets are welcome.
 
Q: Do you offer transportation?
A: Yes. Transportation to various events is scheduled regularly, and special rides can be made with an appointment.
 
Q: Do you have hair care for residents?
A: A beauty/barber shop is located on site.
 
Q: How many meals a day are included in the basic fee?
A: Our chef offers scrumptious meals three times daily for assisted living and Harbor Care residents.  Optional meal plans are available for an additional fee for residents who live in our cottages. Quality foods and menu selection is important for health and variety.
 
Q: How long may a resident stay in this community?
A: Resident needs can eventually move beyond our license to care for them. Should this situation occur, residents may wish to move to a nearby Regency Pacific skilled nursing community to support an easy transition to a facility with different licensed care.
 
Q: What is assisted care?
A: Assisted care is designed for active seniors who either need, or feel they will need, help with everyday living. It provides assurance that help will immediately be available in case of emergency, which creates an energetic environment full of friends, good food, and activity.

A: Assistance services are very important to helping make living easy at Regency on Whidbey.  Please see Assisted Living Services for more information.
 
Q: What Are Your Admission Requirements?
A.Prior to admission to our Assisted Living Community, all residents must: have a physical exam by their physician within 30 days of admission. (at which time Doctor's Admission Orders should be completed.), submit to the Resident Services Coordinator at least 48 hours prior to admission all current medical information filled out on the Doctor’s Admission Orders and the EMS Code Form signed by their local physician, be appropriate for placement within our community determined by an assessment with the Resident Care Services Coordinator at least 48 hours prior to admission, complete all forms, contracts and paperwork required by State regulations and/or Regency on Whidbey at least 24 hours prior to admission, and pay all applicable fees. Our strong commitment to our residents and the staff who care for them dictates that the above admission procedures must be followed. These procedures have been created to insure a smooth admission process for the well being of all our residents.
 
Q: Are any residents considered to be not appropriate for your assisted living program?
A.Yes, Residents not appropriate for our Assisted Living Program are those residents who: have a communicable disease, are bed ridden, have a tube feed, are on a ventilator, have a state ii decubitus or greater, present a danger to themselves or others, have IV's, and/or have a primary diagnosis of a mental illness.  We suggest looking at a nearby Regency Pacific skilled nursing community for residents that are not able to move into Regency on Whidbey.

Q: Do you offer discounts, specials or promotions?
A: Yes! Check out our Internet Specials. Private pay residents also qualify for our Vacations Program, which allows assisted living residents to travel with assistance to another Regency Pacific Assisted Living community for one week at NO charge. See Our Community page for more information.
 
Q: How do I pay for care?
A: Regency on Whidbey accepts private pay and long-term care insurance.  You may also make a payment by credit card or by check using our secure online payment form or pay by credit card or check at our community.  Residents and their families also enjoy our Automated Payment Plan, which uses pre-authorized payments to automatically debit their Visa, Mastercard, or checking accounts for rent and assisted living services.  Our bookkeeper is happy to assist you in gaining a basic understanding of managing the financial affairs of your loved one.
